My defense of Sacred Seven:
If you take a step back and look at it, Sacred Seven, at least, can’t be named the worst show of the season. That would probably fall to Blood-C, or some other show that I’m not watching. These past two episodes of Sacred Seven have alleviated my worries about it having no coherent plot, and also showing that the characters are capable of development. And with epically choreographed battles every episode, I think that there is enough reason to continue watching and blogging Sacred Seven.
I really don’t know how much of that was sarcastic. I won’t even try to figure it out. My REAL reason for not dropping Sacred Seven is that, as much as I would like to think otherwise, I will stop watching it if I stop blogging it. And that would be no fun, would it? It would also break my no-drop streak.
I’m not getting much moe vibes. Is that even what they’re going for?

The past week, struggling to bring myself to catch up with Sacred Seven, and ultimately write this post, has been nothing short of an uphill battle. Really, with other commitments, and trivial distractions, getting up to speed with this subpar shounen fodder was a lot harder than it had to be.
In fact, I was very, very close to dropping this show after this post, but episode 07 has shown me that Sacred Seven can be epic…at times. And it seems like its hollow husk of a plot is going to pick up soon, so it’s really going to be a shame to drop now.
Gosh, my standards for “epic” have really gotten low…
It’s not much, but it’s the only twintails I’ve got.

When a show that one, under no circumstances whatsoever, should ever take seriously at any given time does a filler episode, we all know what kind of facepalm-worthy stuff to expect. As if this show could get any less serious than it already is.
I didn’t expect such an extravagant amount of cheese, though.
I laughed a whole lot more than I should have here.

Wow, I really am questioning my decision to keep watching (and blogging) Sacred Seven. This is really beginning to feel like a kid’s show with those cheesy one-liners, glaring plot holes, and forced moments of emotional tension used to move the plot forward.
Well, at least it’s not going to start preaching the power of friendship and loyalty, right?
And Tandoji has a BALLIN’ bike.

I seriously don’t know why I picked up this series. But after watching this first episode, I’m really not regretting it. After all, how could I say no to those spec-ops maid soldiers?
Seriously, though, I honestly had absolutely no expectation of how this would turn out. And how did it turn out? Surprisingly well, considering that it just looked like a cheesy children’s show at the beginning.
At this point, I deemed it perfectly safe to not take this show seriously at all.
