Hanasaku Iroha Episode 26 (Final)–I’m Blooming

It ends. I wish I could cry, but it seems like the tears won’t come out.

It’s got nothing to do with HanaIro not being epic or touching enough. If anything, it is hands down the most touching anime I’ve seen in this year of 2011. I do not say this lightly. Perhaps the length of the series gave me too many opportunities to change my opinion, but final impressions are what makes or breaks a series for me. And HanaIro went out with a beautiful flourish.

And I thought the previous episode was amazing enough.

Hanasaku Iroha Episode 25–We All Love…

The end approaches. I’ve probably said this before many times already, but I really will miss this show once it’s over. Even the anticipation of the epic finale next episode isn’t deterring the eventual sadness I will feel without Ohana’s heartwarming story every week.

To sum it up in three words, this episode blew my mind. Grandma Manager’s challenge towards the staff to keep the inn running was heartily accepted, and everyone struggles to provide the same pristine service to their customers during the approach of the Bonbori Festival. More than anything, it wasn’t Enishi and co. accepting and completing Grandma Manager’s challenge that got to me, it was how they were able to persevere and pull through that made this episode so memorable for me.

Oh, and this. I don’t think I’ll forget about this for a while.

Hanasaku Iroha Episode 24–They’re Your Hopes and Dreams, But Now They’re Ours As Well

Two episodes left. Watching (and procrastinating watching) Hanasaku Iroha every week has become like a normal habit for me. I’m afraid I wouldn’t know what to do without Ohana’s epic drama after this show ends.

Although I could probably do with some less scenes of Grandma Manager acting like a robot in the bath.

And more of Tohru’s badass manga-quoting.

Hanasaku Iroha Episodes 21 to 23–In a Relationship, Honesty is Golden

With the end in sight for Hanasaku Iroha, the drama between the characters have really started to pick up. For one, those revelations and confessions we’ve been waiting on for 20 episodes have finally happened. Some too late, some much needed, some totally unforeseen.

And you Tohru x Ohana shippers, I’m sorry, but this part is probably the closest your ship came to floating. ‘Tis a shame, but they would’ve been an interesting couple. If Minko didn’t exist, or wouldn’t be thrown into a rage by it. Unfortunately, that is not the case, and I have to say that Tohru and Minko are even better together.

See? They take from each other. Perfect. Minko and Tohru OTP.

Hanasaku Iroha Episodes 18 to 20–Don’t Ever Change/School Festival of the Omelette Rice

I have procrastinated Hanasaku Iroha so much that the fabled triple post has reared its ugly head. I had wished to avoid it…but I suppose this is for the best.

Speaking of my procrastination problem, I really should find a solution to get rid of it. Hanasaku Iroha is one of the shows every week where I realize, again and again, that it, at least, is not worthy to be piled up until the last minute like that essay, or report you get once in a while. I still find it difficult to properly explain the specific details on why I like this show so much, so we’ll just leave it at “I like this show. A lot.”

[HorribleSubs] Hanasaku Iroha - 18 [720p].mkv_snapshot_03.27_[2011.08.14_18.45.22]

I swear that this has nothing to do with it.

Hanasaku Iroha Episode 17–We Shall Return!

It seems that, according to my ad-hoc planning of my blogging schedule around real-life stuff, Hanasaku Iroha posts have been allocated to Saturday afternoon. A bit late than I’d like, but I suppose that’s still tolerable. However, if any of you, my dear readers, ever feel that a certain post is constantly lacking in timeliness, please do not hesitate to voice your complaint in the comments. I always appreciate criticism of any form.

Speaking of blogging schedule, next week is going to be essentially empty, where this blog is concerned, as I am heading on a vacation of sorts towards the west coast of Canada. As such, I plan to double up most episodes for next week in the week following, management of backlog catch-up time or laziness allowing.

Hanasaku Iroha has delved into another drama-filled side plot, this time with Enishi (Grandma Manager’s son) as the focus. With last episode’s movie proposal, the crew at Kissuiso is all set to star in the blockbuster film of the year. At least, that’s what it seems like.

NOOOOOOOOOOO….lol at Nako in the background.

Hanasaku Iroha Episodes 15 and 16–Running an Inn is About as Tough as Shooting a Movie

Oh, goodness. This must be some sort of new record of lateness when it comes to HanaIro. But also, this week must also have broken a new record for the amount of backlog episodes I have. Gotta keep on top of the schedule.

Anyway, the backlog accumulation should be letting up, because I am NOT blogging every single episode I see starting this week. Just…(counts).. five each week. Shouldn’t be too bad.

Hanasaku Iroha (although I’ve been releasing double posts in extreme excess recently), is one of the shows each week that is just relaxing to watch and blog. Mainly because of where it’s set, but more on that later. Also, Yuina shows some much needed character development, finally breaking her image of being the perfect princess that her classmates seem to think she is.

Waitress-uniform Ohana should get out, because serafuku Ohana needs more screentime.

Hanasaku Iroha Episode 13 and 14–Oh, the Nostalgia/Not a Kappa

I should really stop putting off Hanasaku Iroha until half a week later all the time. However, recently, a huge backlog has accumulated because of the opening of the new season, and me being unable to bring myself to post more than once in a day. Really, I should try that once in a while, this “getting things done” that seems to be all the rage.

Hanasaku Iroha has reverted back (or has begun to) to its original rather light-hearted tone. Although each episode still revolves around Ohana’s personal struggles, they’re not nearly as plot- or emotionally heavy as the last few.

[HorribleSubs] Hanasaku Iroha - 13 [720p].mkv_snapshot_17.42_[2011.07.07_15.35.40]

At the end of this show, I’ll have like a montage of all of Ohana’s weird-looking faces.

Hanasaku Iroha Episode 12–I’m the Antagonist

So, change of plans. Originally I was going to take this week off in order to properly prepare for exams, but that does not seem like the best course of action any longer. I have seriously overestimated the amount of time actually required for that thing known as “studying”, and now I am left with spare time. To blog anime, of course.

Also, I was going to catch up on AnoHana first (because, you know, it’s like the best show this season, and it’s ENDING soon) but some strange, inexplicable urge forced me to watch HanaIro. So there we go.

After the happenings of last episode, Ohana is still stuck in Tokyo, albeit with Tohru and Minko, who went there to save her (or did they?). Her mother is still unresponsive, and the Ko-Ohana-glasses girl love triangle is still looming there, waiting for the perfect chance to manifest itself and allow all hell to break loose.

You can tell by the intense gaze of pure jealousy and contempt that this is not the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Hanasaku Iroha Episode 11–I’m Gonna Fest It Up

In advance, allow me to apologize for the lateness. Exams are imminently approaching, and for reasons I honestly can’t explain that well myself, the time that I have to watch and blog anime has been decreasing recently. With that said, I probably won’t have time to watch blog shows next week because of exams, and it certainly pains me much to be skipping over the second-last episode for many series this season.

This episode of Hanasaku Iroha really picks up the pace, and if I do say so myself, reverts back to Ohana’s original problems at the beginning of the show quite a bit. As well, we get to see (the beginnings of?) the resolution of her and Ko-chan’s relationship (if you could call it a relationship). All I can say is, this episode was some serious stuff, and the next has much to look forward to.

(At the time of this posting, the next episode is probably out. That’s exactly how late I am -_-)
